We're happy to report that the sale was a great success. Thank you to all who contributed "merchandise"; to the 51 volunteers who collectively contributed about 700 hours of sorting, pricing, selling, and cleaning up; and to everyone who shopped or spread the word about the sale.
$7500 was raised as follows:
CTK Building Fund - $3 742
The Cuernavaca Project - $1 735
The TRC Healing Fund - $1 523
Hall Expense and Use - $500
The rummage sale was lots of work but also a fun bonding experience for those who volunteered. If you missed helping with the sale this year, we expect to be back in 2023 - don't miss being part of it! Raising funds, recycling, and making friends - what's not to love??
FYI - Unsold goods went to Log Cabin Thrift Store, Government House fundraising, ICF (indigenous Christian Fellowship), and the Cuernavaca Project.
Downsizing, Moving or Estate Sale?
we are doing Estate and Moving Sales, in a covid-safe way!
Volunteers do the work of your sale, profits go to charity, you get a big tax receipt.
We can help. Our team of experienced volunteers will do the work for your sale in your home or apartment. YOUget a charitable tax receipt for all proceeds. It’s a win-win deal!
Details: The sale is at your house or apartment. You supply ready-to-sell items and your garage, lawn, home and/or yard for the sale. We also ask that the residence has a clean bathroom, running water, adequate lighting and, if possible, a working fridge for the volunteers to use.
We organize, set up, price, display, advertise, manage the sale, and do basic clean up afterwards. We can assist with dispersal of unsold goods to charitable organizations.
Interested? Contact us before you throw away those potentially valuable items. You’d be surprised at what we can sell!
What’s in it for you? You get a charitable tax receipt for all profits while we do the work.
What’s in it for us? We have the “fun” of running a sale and raising money for our charities. We are committed to re-cycling and promoting fellowship while supporting worthy causes. Because we’re all volunteers, expenses (primarily for advertising) are extremely low, and we have a high incentive to raise maximum funds for our charities.
Who are we? We’re a group of volunteers under the sponsorship of Christ the King Parish. With over eight years of experience our group has the expertise you can count on.
Where does the money go?
Christ the King Parish to support our parish and Social Justice projects.
The “Cuernavaca Project” supporting families in central Mexico to live healthier lives. Projects include composting toilets, safer cooking stoves, improved nutrition, job training. It is under the umbrella of the Archdiocese of Regina.
Regina Food for Learning - providing lunch or breakfast to Regina school students as identified by their school community.
